How to Avoid Food Temptations When You’re Working from Home

Author: Kyle Zimmerman

One of the hardest things about working from home is avoiding food temptations. Whether it’s the cookies in the pantry or the leftover pizza in the fridge, it’s all too easy to give in to temptation when you’re working from home. But there are ways to avoid succumbing to temptation and staying on track with your diet. Here are four tips for avoiding food temptations when you’re working from home.

1. Plan ahead and have healthy snacks on hand: Before you start working for the day, take a few minutes to plan out your snacks. This will help you avoid impulse decisions when hunger strikes. And make sure to have healthy snacks on hand, like fruits and vegetables, so you’re not tempted by unhealthy options.

2. Keep your kitchen clean and organized: A cluttered kitchen can be a trigger for overeating. So take some time every day to tidy up your kitchen and keep it organized. This will make it easier to resist temptation when you see a messy kitchen.

3. Stay away from the kitchen: If you know you’re likely to cave if you’re in the vicinity of tempting food, then make a point to stay away from the kitchen as much as possible. Work in another room or go for a walk outside instead of sitting in the kitchen where all the tempting food is located.

4. Distract yourself with something else: If you find yourself thinking about food constantly, then try to distract yourself with something else. Maybe read a book or listen to music. Anything that will take your mind off of food and help you resist temptation.

Working from home can be tough when it comes to avoiding food temptations. But by following these four tips, you can stay on track with your diet and resist temptation. Just remember to plan ahead, keep your kitchen clean and organized, stay away from the kitchen if necessary, and find something else to focus on if you start thinking about food too much.
